Sunshine will get you the best picture and video. Be sure the light is facing the dancer, not behind.
To help our dancers get their best performance, they can follow along to the practice videos. Set a device on a chair or table, stand behind and record your dancers video, hiding the chair/table from your view. Remind your dancer to "lookup" and "smile" if they have their eyes locked to the practice video screen.
The first try might not be the best try. Our dancers should be proud of themselves and the work they are submitting. It might be a couple of takes before we have the best performance. I have a realistic expectation for our youngest dancers. Being adorable is key! If they spin instead of jump, and it was a fun spin, keep it!
Have hair pulled off the face in a ponytail or halfup-halfdown, braids, etc, with the hair accessory on the dancers right side. Make-up is not necessary but you are welcome to have make-up and glitter.
Get a wide landscape picture and video. The ground below your feet and sky above your head. Got a little wider and I can always zoom-in later.
With your dancer prepared in "Acro 1st Position," press Record and then countdown 3, 2, 1, GO. Tricks should last 10 seconds. Finish each trick in "Acro 1st Position" with a 3, 2, 1 and then stop recording. Each trick video clip should be about 16 seconds.
Dancers have chosen which 2 or more tricks they are going to demonstrate from each trick category below. Our Minis might not have a demonstration in every category. You are welcome to double-up in other categories.

Well, Ali Baba, had them forty thieves
Scheherazade had a thousand tales
But, master, you're in luck 'cause up your sleeves
You got a brand of magic never fails
You got some power in your corner now
Some heavy ammunition in your camp
You got some punch, pizazz, yahoo, and how?
See all you gotta do is rub that lamp
And then I'll say
Mister, Aladdin, sir, what will your pleasure be?
Let me take your order, jot it down
You ain't never had a friend like me
Life is your restaurant and I'm your maitre d'
Come on, whisper what it is you want
You ain't never had a friend like me
Yes sir, we pride ourselves on service
You the boss, the king, the shah!
Say what you wish, it's yours! True dish!
How about a little more baklava?
Have some of column A, try all of column B
I'm in the mood to help you, dude
You ain't never had a friend like me, oh yeah!
Do your friends do this?
Do your friends do that?
Do your friends pull this,
Out their little hat?
Can your friends go poof?
Well, looky here
Can your friends go "Abracadabra", let 'er rip
And then make the sucker disappear
Don't sit there buggy-eyed
I'm here to answer all your midday prayers
You got me bona fide, certified
You got a genie for your charge d'affaires
I got a powerful urge to help you out
So what's your wish? I really wanna know (really wanna know)
You got a list that's three miles long, no doubt
Well, all you gotta do is rub like so, and oh
Mister Aladdin, sir, have a wish or two or three
I'm on the job, you big nabob
You ain't never had a friend, never had a friend, you ain't
Never had a friend, never had a friend
You ain't
Never (never) had a (had a)
Friend like me
You ain't never had a friend like me, yeah!
Follow these simple tips when you take your measurements. Please submit meansurements no later than Sunday, April 25th.
To measure girth, measure all the way around the torso. Start the tape measure at the top of the shoulder where a leotard strap sits, then down the front through the crotch and up the back to the same shoulder to make a full circle. Measuring tape should be snug to the body but not tight.
Measure over the fullest part of your chest with your arms relaxed at your sides or out in a T shape.
Measure around where your waist naturally indents. Keep your finger between the tape and your belly.
Measure around the fullest part of the hips and buttocks.
Measure from the crotch to the floor. The inseam length is the number of inches, to the nearest half-inch.
If your dancer has an Elev8 Dance t-shirt that fits, use this size. Any standard t-shirt will do.
Please email your measurements to: info@elev8danceinc.com
Remember to include Dancers Name, Girth, Chest, Waist, Hips, Inseam and T-Shirt.
